That is sad to hear. I have been a proud defender of Whitney Young as a place of excellence over the years, but I must admit all I have seen is what's on their site. But, as a former student, I know they pad that shit to keep up appearances. I hope Whitney continues to have high educational standards and furture students are not put off by Whitney becoming a "sports school" I understand it brings in sponsorship, but that is not why the school was established. Nice floors! They fianlly took up that horrid carpet. I'm sure you're out of college at this point, but thanks for this video. I love Whitney and take great price in being an alumnus. It's nice to see the halls I walked for four years. The gym bridge vending machines was a new thing when I was there. Back in the 90's it was all about Gardettos.

you people have no idea how much i wanna go to this school. i tired to go for 7th grade but i needed one more point to get in. i applied this year again and i get the letter in 2 weeks. If i don't get into whitney, I'm gonna have to go to steinmentz and there i will probably die. so yeah....

I'm currently a Junior here at Whitney Young, and while I want to say CLASS OF '13 WUT WUT, frankly, the school has been getting worse over the past few years. The "ackies," aka the incoming 7th and current 8th graders in our school, used to be alot smarter. Many of the incoming freshman are good at sports (basketball) rather than intelligent in their studies. Whitney wasn't my first choice, but I'm still glad I got accepted, other than the complaints I've listed so far the school isn't so bad.

Class Of 82, There are subfloors to the school. My mom was the Lunch Room Manager when I went there. It was cool, I just wish I didn't cut as much as I did. Is Dr. Wortman still around?

I am a Whitney Young alum myself (Blue House Class of 1991) and while the inside of the school has changed, it still brought back some memories for me. My 20-year class reunion is coming up and I will share this video with my classmates!
