We tested the knowledge of ten British students on the subject of a game that most of them knew barely anything about: American Football. Looking at the Super Bowl, the NFL and it's tricks, tactics and teams, we delve into a vast array of misconceptions.

Huge apologies to Liam and Luca, whose names got mixed up in the edit!

--

Vague definitions of the sports terms mentioned in the video:

SCRIMMAGE: An imaginary line that stretches across the field which players cannot cross, OR a synonym for a "friendly" match with no competitive outcome

NICKELBACK: The name for a fifth defensive back, whereas four would be the norm

SNAP: Term for when the ball is thrown backwards from the line of scrimmage

TIGHT END: Offensive position, usually for players also good at defensive techniques

SACK: Term for when a quarterback is tackled before passing the ball forwards

MADDEN: John Madden is a legendary NFL coach, player and commentator and todays brands the annual EA Sports NFL video games

The featured students, in alphabetical order:
Chris (16); Danwen (16); David (16); Dershone (18); Elle (16); Greg (16); Kunle (17); Liam (17); Lindie (19); Luca, (16)

Music: Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com)

Sad that a funny video has argument between Americans and British people. That's ridiculous. England is our ally, a great country, and I lived there for almost a year with the people being a lot nicer than a lot of Americans. I apologize for American idiots commenting. Unfortunately we have a rather large population of them. Video is funny as hell, I'd love it if there was another one.

As an American this video was really funny....until I thought about someone asking me questions about soccer or cricket...... They answered more about American football than I could about soccer.........I know what the World Cup is, David Beckham, and Pele. And I don't know shit about Cricket.

Your description is wrong. John Madden was a legendary coach, not a player. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1958, but a knee injury kept him from ever playing a game in the pros. He went into coaching afterward (for the Oakland Raiders), and retired second highest win percentage for a coach in the NFL (76.3%).
