@MusicMotives on average a horses skin is atleast 10x thicker than a humans, as well as having an additional layer of fat and hair, with less nerves below the surface, tbh it was more the shock than any form of pain as a horse is a flight animal by instinct as so is wary of anything unusual

Btw the skin of a horse is thick so to the horse that would be a small tap. Yeah it's wrong but it's that that wrong.

well, i don't know what you think, but this is so not typical horse racing. it's true that jockeys can be banned for this kind of actions. anyway, this kind of things, you will find it at people who are definitly not horse people. and those people are in every discipline in this sport

Dumb ass. That wont make the horse run any better, nor will it help to control it. That was both a useless and pathetic move by the jockey.
