EDGE Project - Lingira Island (Summer 2009 & Summer 2010)

This movie is to provide a quick glimpse into the goals and experiences of the UW Madison EDGE Project, a student sustainable development project currently working on Lingira Island, in Lake Victoria, in Uganda . The EDGE Project is designed to provide University of Wisconsin students with a platform to engage actively in issues of sustainable development, project management, and leadership by connecting the UW community with the resources necessary to research, create, and implement small-scale development projects that will empower communities to overcome the challenges they face. EDGE Project will create a network of students who will establish a model for sharing knowledge and resources with international communities that will empower them to overcome the challenges they face.

As of Fall 2010, the student group has traveled to Uganda twice. Another group plans on traveling Summer 2011.
