Tiger may be the most talented golfer on earth but he is opposite of everything the game stands for... He has no integrity and he is not a gentleman when he is on the course. He does not deserve the honor of being a great legend such as jack nicklaus. i am 21 years old and tiger was my inspiration to take up the great game of golf, and was my idol my whole life until recently... now that i have matured i see through his lies.

smarion, ive played with tiger woods and can tell you that he is a complete gentleman on the course, have you ever met him? no, so dont judge him on what he does in his personal life.

and btw i played with him at a charity event at wentworth becuase im a member there.

he is honoustly one of the nicest people i have ever met.

@shadydavy And i would still disagree with you. I could turn your argument around on yourself by saying golf has things that make it much harder that other sports just don't have. Violence does not make a great athlete. To be honest the best athletes are separated not physically but mentally. Lebron James is probably more physically gifted than Jordan but Jordan was mentally tough, and in turn a MUCH better player. Ali was seperated mentally too. Tiger was a mental machine in the hardest game.

If that sport lacks that element, then we really shouldn't be claiming that this athlete (Tiger) in this instance is the Greatest Athlete in the world. Notice I didn't say, that Tiger is not a Great Athlete, I'm saying he is not the Greatest Athlete of this Era just because he dominates Golf. pulease.

Your argument is Awful. You tried to claim all the sports i listed aren't athletic which is absolutely retarded. Basically your saying that all the "best" athletes are only in sports "exciting" to watch. And few people claim that phelps is better than federer because Phelps had ONE great olympics, Federer has had a long Career, much like Tiger. Many people consider Lance as one of the best athletes ever, I disagree bc of roids. SO Usain Bolt isn't a great athlete?? Sports dont have to be violent

@Whaleshark1993 My argument is sound, nobody is claiming Brian Boitano is greater than Mohamed Ali, or Pete Sampras. Nobody is claiming Michael Phelps is a more stellar athlete than Roger Federer. Some sports have all the elements for compelling competition, mental, physical, combat sports add violence being done to your body. And your not just getting punched in the face, you're getting punched in the face by powerful men who know how to deliver a punch.

@shadydavy Yes golf is harder than boxing. Just because you don't get punched in the face it doesn't make it easier. Someone could train 10 years in boxing and be decent. Someone could train 10 years in golf and still SUCK. And then theres competitive golf which is WAY different than normal golf, it requires INSANE mental strength. And your argument is awful. So according to your view, Running, swimming, rowing, any track and field event, biking, figure skating, skiing, luge aren't sports????

@Whaleshark1993 Golf is missing one crucial element of athletics, the direct physical resistance of another athlete. 15 Rounds of Boxing against Ali or Frazier, is harder than Golf? There is no hunting, like the hunting of man, the same truism works in sports. Ali was hunting Frazier, Frazier was hunting Ali, claiming Tiger is somehow accomplished more than these men is retarded.

The thing that makes golf HARDER is because you have all the time in the world to either perform OR get in your OWN WAY. There are no do overs in golf. Every single shot is worth the same on the scorecard, good, or bad. No two shots in golf are ever the same. No two holes in golf are ever the same.Tiger accomplishments should outshadow other athletes bc golf is HARDER.

Saying insipid things like winning a Golf tournament than winning a Tennis tournament or winning a boxing match. Maybe if your opponent ran out there with a club and tried to body check you while you were making that shot, then you can put Golfers in the same level as other athletes, until then...
