First time I went to Scotland with my Dad, John Allan was on the flight. Imagine yourself coming in for a landing at Prestwick at 6 am, through the early morning mist and you John Allan and the rest of the flight are all singing away. That is something you never forget. We were singing on to Marie's wedding.
JA was amazing on the 12-string. From the first time we saw him in the early 70's until the last time a year or so before he passed he just made our jaws drop.
@shawnyboie Sorry Ive only seen your reply at this moment.. that second part at 3:20 was played on the Stan Rogers tribute album also(with Stewart ) after a Bonnie Lass intro. Its just has me muddled.. I have asked countless Celtic guitarists.. noone seems to know.
I think that this was a Christmas Daddies fund for less fortunate kids it is very good they always have great great talent on this show it is still very popular I do believe that its on the 1st Sun in Dec
Crazy,.....John Allan was the best 12 string picker ever:)
