  • God bless you for posting this...I thought I was the only one who knows this song...I was 19 when I first heard this....it blew my mind! It was Barry White soon to be a major star...he tried to duplicate this song many times...but this version was not to be duplicated...it just is sooooo damn good! I thank you again...since my copy is a little scratched....they just don't make them like this anymore...RIP Barry....I'll always love this....

  • Pleased to be of assistance! :-).... I just love that label too, great logo and a great name.... "Mo-Soul" says it all.... Wonder what's at 7158 Sunset now?...

  • just perfect!

  • An absolute jewel!!!

  • Killer!!!!

  • wonderful :)) ktf

  • Monster modern soul. Props have to go to Gene Page as well as Barry White for this - Gene's arranging (particularly strings and horns) with everyone from Love Unlimited to the Four Tops was second to none. Peace.

  • i had this record a few years back before i soul most of my collection a ooh well least i can still hear it now thnx

  • For comparison's sake, here's how the Love Unlimited version (with the same instrumental backing track) sounded:

  • Welcome to Soul Heaven.....WOW!!!

  • @phillyboy25 - I actually prefer this version to the "definitive" rendition (with the same instrumental backing track) by Love Unlimited of a year later; I noticed the mix was a bit different from here. (And Barry's own recording, on his "Can't Get Enough" LP, seemed to stretch it a bit.)

  • I figured out the month and year of this release by two other "bookmark" singles pressed by Monarch:

    - "In the Rain" by The Dramatics (Volt 4058, released February 1972): ∆87534

    - "(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right" by Luther Ingram (Koko 2111, released April 1972): ∆88517

Also . . . Giorgio's "Son of My Father" (Dunhill 4304) would've been released the same month as the Dramatics classic, if based on its delta number: ∆87559.
