These are some short clips from my 2006 summer flight on the "Weightless Wonder" also known as the Vomit Comet which is actually a DC-9 now not a KC-135, which has been retired. We are showing some basic laws of physics for demonstrations to middle school kids. The last clip is when the plane simulates lunar gravity. Also notice my failed attempt at a zero-G bicycle kick! I got this opportunity as a Chemical Engineer at New Mexico State University. We conducted our own Chem E experiment and these clips are just us having fun afterwards.

If you are a high school or college student, check out http://microgravityuniversity.jsc.nasa.gov/ to see how you can fly on the Vomit Comet yourself!!

  • my physics professor had a research group that got to "enjoy" the ride :p but yeah they were also doing a research project that required zero gravity.

  • I'd like to see Hitomi Tanaka take a flight in that.

  • CAN ANY BODY HELP ME OUT!!! i have a science projecton the vomit cometkc 135 and was wondering if i could get so interviews of poeple who have been on this aircraft

  • really?

i heard that you get 2 minutes for $30-50

  • wer'd you apply for a job on this thing?

    LOL

    best aeroplane ever

  • lol

  • thanks you answered my physics homework :D whoo hoo "2 balls @ different mass in the vomit comet"

  • that was realy interesting to me how the air had aperfect flow (not coming up in bubbles) at 2 g's and also the balls of different mass looked cool (even though it was fairly obvious what would happen) nice work (Y)
