This movie is so fantastic. I love Cary Grant and this is one of his best, if not the best. In my opinion, Classic Hollywood is so great because love trumped lust and movies didn't need to be flashy and gritty. Movies were much more meaningful, rather than showy and exciting like movies these days need to be to sell.

This ending is so nice, intelligent and hopeful, just rigjht for the Christmas time. The script is so cleverly written and delivered by two of the greatest stars in the history of American film. Big hurray to Cary and Deborah, or rather Nicky and Terry here. I am so happy that finally I was able to see the whole show for the first time in my life.

I love this scene! When he enters the bedroom and sees the painting and then closes his eyes---well, the tears just flow for me.

@misyespitelk I am in agreement with you. The glance of Terry enchants when it kisses the hand to him, notices all their love and its pain because it resigns to him.

Wonderful! Thank you for posting!
People used to be smart back then. If you've seen the movie you'll understand what i mean. The movie was written to smart people. People didn't need a smart ass remark or a catch phrase or a sexy action hero or an astonishing decoration or graphics...they were already intelligent...they already read a lot.
The lines were written to address their souls and heart and imagination not their greed and sexual hunger. Now u watch a movie and you feel like buying something.
