my grandmum kind of hoards stuff too, but in abandoned barn. her house is clean. i just don't get it how can they stuff all the stuff in a house.

Theses hoarders need a second chance if clearing their apartments works and they improve their ways, good on them. If they don't then the last resort of sending them to jail for whatever reason could be sufficient.

I've been hoarding since I was 11. It *is* isolating and very lonely, because I'm too embarrassed to let anyone in my house. I can *so* identify with Maureen and her comments about stress. I'm on my third therapist; hopefully we'll find that impetus so I can begin to let go of my "things."
