March 19, 2010 was a very big night for Laurence and Joshua Atkins. San Jose tennis coach Don Johnson honored them with his Vision Passion and Action award at the annual Oakland induction ceremony for the Afro American Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame. The Brothers shared the stage with inductees into the AAESHoF ninth class: football coach Ben Parks, Raider defensive back Willie Brown, track coach Pat Connelly, Kansas City Chief Chris Burford, 49er quarterback John Brodie and others. The event was held at Oakland's Mormon Temple and emceed by two San Francisco broadcasters, Renel Brooks-Moon and Vern Glenn. KRON-TV's Glenn spent a few moments after the event chatting with The Brothers. As you can see, the man deserves his title, "Mister Involvement".
Special thanks to Arif Khatib and the AAESHoF for all their help and community work. For more information about the inductees and the organization see: http://afrosportshall.com/
