This is one of a two part video explaining and showing how-to install the Hunter Grille Guard I purchased from Truck Gear Direct (Houston, TX). Please note I am not connected in anyway to Hunter Grilles or TGD, except for the purchase of this product. The purpose of this video is to help those who might want to install this on their own truck.

  • So for those top brackets, I took the grille off to get at those bolts easier. I will say though that it would be best to take the top of the guard off after you have everything adjusted properly and put the grille back in. 'Twas a pain in the ass to put it back in with the guard in place. Great video! Helped immensely as they sent me the instructions for a Jeep Liberty, and you and I have basically the same truck (mines an ex cab).

  • @Jimboslice5545 -> thanks Jimbo... Weird, our other vehicle is a jepp liberty... lol... Either way at least you got it installed. As shown in the video I did not R&R the front grill for those upper bolts. I was able to install just using an open end wrench for that.

  • Keep it up with the self-help videos. I ordered a stainless steel brush guard from truck gear direct for my silverado and would have probably never got it on going by their directions. Glad I watched your videos!

  • @CT21886 -> Thanks CT... You comment is exactly the reason why I try and make these videos of projects that I encounter along the way. I am glad that the videos I create from my Driveway MEchanic Series have help you (and other)... Feel free to check out my other videos, perhaps there is another project you might want to do, that I already have done. Thanks for checking in and for the comment.

  • its a truck guard why r u worried about it getting scratched?

  • @thegreatdeerhunter ---> that's a good question.. I guess only because it was new out of the box. Cause once it's in use I wouldnt mind as much... Kinda like buying a new car, youre kinda watching for that first scratch to happen... But once it does happen it's like a weight was lifted of your chest... and you just treat it like.. "oh well, it's first battle scar." - Thanks for checking in...

  • @jenluvheart ---> I agree, I havent had any problems with mine yet... Thanks for checking in on my video.

  • TRUCK GEAR DIRECT ROX!

  • @specops3866 ---> Thanks, I bought it straight from the lot, last year in 2010. What won me over was the price, and the milage... (only 38,000) on it for 5 years at the time of purchase... also, the fact that I wanted a stripped down model that was a 4x4, It just happened to be blue... (GM's Dark Ming Blue Metallic 25, WA 722J)... My only beef, is that next time, I think I'll be looking for an extend cab over this standard cab...

  • @TheGrapevine4 ---> Your welcome... Thanks for watching.. Hopefully if you are installing your own Hunter guard, or another on your vehicle, (Silverado or not), that this video helped in some way. That's why I make these D.I.Y. 'Driveway Mechanic' Series.
