  • It's hard to see in the video. If you haven't remedied this problem I would make sure you loosen the mainsheet and boom vang while you haul on the reefing line to get the boom to pull up to the reef clew. With the boom pulled up to the clew it should clear the gallows and allow you to tighten the leech with the mainsheet. Also make sure the halyard is hard on and the sail is all the way up. You should not have to modify the gallows.

  • @Badfishy001 Well the problem is at least identified. The sail would be perfect, if the boom gallows could be removed. The sail maker unfortunately forgot we had one, so they are taking a wedge out, and putting in new reefing cringles to raise the boom. It will be recut this winter and be ready in the spring. They were quick to identify the problem and are willing to fix it at no cost.

Did you buy your boat yet? I have seen some great prices recently on A33s

  • I just noticed it was a new sail. Hmm I guess the leech could be cut too long also. I'm interested in what you decide.

  • I hope this helps if you haven't fixed this. If I can be of any help I'd be glad to . I love these boats and hope to own either the 33 or 38 someday. Brandon Snider
