A Rev user has been experimenting with Rev's data export feature, overlaying the data from Rev on top of video from his Mini Cooper. Great stuff!

  • Good work. The .csv file is actually just a text file with a ".csv" extension. So you can probably skip the Excel step by just renaming the file extension to ".txt" (unless Excel reformats the file somehow when it exports)

  • I believe this rather clever user passed a reformatted version of a Rev export file into Quicktime - which then infers what to display in the movie. The reformat would require synchronizing times between the video and the export data.

  • Where is the brake / acceleration indication coming from in the Rev data? Which specific metric are you monitoring to get this data?

  • any way you could post the styled/edited csv file that was used for this? I when I do the video like this via opening it in quicktime, its pretty close together and not laid out the same at all. Or maybe an example nearly like this?

  • Nope it doesnt change it at all, but its easier to choose what data you want to use. The hard part is reformatting the text file. I use the username TDOCUK for the forum im a mod on, but wifiuk is my personal YouTube account and i have submitted a video under that name.

  • I managed to do it, had to export the .csv to a text file from Excel, then using that text file open it up in Quicktime, then the text file needs more editing to make it look a nicer layout. Its a time consuming project, but worth it in the end. I have a video labeled TEST shows it working basically

  • How do you get the export data added to the video? please can you help, i just cant seem to work out how to add it to my video.
