The Washington Balalaika Society Orchestra is the largest Russian folk instrument orchestra in North America. Its conductor is Svetlana Nikonova; its music director and co-founder is Max McCullough. It is currently starting its 21st year of presenting classical and Russian folk music to the Washington, DC, area.
This performance was held at the Kenmore Performing Arts Center in Arlington, Virginia, on November 22, 2009. Moldavian dance features bayan virtuoso Vladimir Zakharevich, and clarinetist Patricia Scherago.
I love the musicality of this Orchestra. the focus and dedication is pleasing indeed. And the Tambourine player really kept a great beat. Must be a pro! Keep up the musicality! Heart warming to be sure.
