  • A wonderful lecture by Professor Durrant. I only wish someone had put an aircon in that room so that the poor Professor would not finish his lecture with his shirt soaked in sweat (he is such a humble man that he even apologized for sweating so profusely). I felt sorry for him having to give a physically demanding lecture in a classroom with no aircon.

  • a common speak of the chinese are " as long as the people can earn his living(money), who's the king doesn't matter" or " as the wind blows over the fields, its wise to bend with it or those who oppose it will surely brake"

  • Thank you for respecting my poor assessment. lol.

  • Furthermore, immigrants are what have made america great in the past and continue doing so right now. The great American physicist Feynman and the great author Philip Roth both have immigrant roots. Most of our people came to America as immigrants some time in the past. The immigrants, the "foreign talent" you speak of, will be the next generation of americans.

  • I would respectfully disagree with you assessment. America's democracy is what gives the americans their high standard of living compared to other places. Our first amendment gives us the right to petition our government for a "redress of grievences" and we are allowed to form opposition to government politcy. This spirit of opposition combined with the people's true participation in the government is what gives us the good policies you cite as keeping us afloat.

  • amazing.....

  • Thank you for telling the truth of chinese people to USA

  • I hope the professor can do a video on the Fall of America after he retired. Their way of democracy is not working well for the country and what is keeping them afloat is the only good policy , which is have is to import foreign talents all over the world. Good luck America

  • Chinese are generally smarter than others and in terms of monetary, they are even more brilliant . You are underestimating them to think that the mythology had blinded them.

  • Ancient China has already gone away. It's the wisdom and knowledge left over by Chinese ancestors that Chinese value, as we know the ancient Chinese don't clown around like the present leaders we have in most countries.

Most of the philosophies, wisdom and knowledge, are greatly applicable still. This is why Chinese feel so proud of themselves and not because of Huang Di that tied them as one united people.
