After a nearly two year frame up restoration effort , the Fairmont S-2 motorcar owned by the Rosenberg Railroad Museum in Rosenberg, TX was started up on 9/6/09 for the first time is at least 30 years. We really have no idea when the last time this motorcar was operational.
What is even most amazing to me is the Fairmont QB engine started on the first pull after priming only a couple of turns! The engine ran as smooth as if it just ran yesterday.
We hope to get her out on the rails very soon and shortly thereafter send her home to Rosenberg.
I have posted a new photo of the nearly finished car on the web page where we have documented our efforts.

next time you try to run the car after it fires up move the timer lever farward past the center of the pannel... when you start a fairmont motor farward leave the timer 3/4 of the way back and when the car starts move the timmer forward.. car should run much better...
