What this guy says is pretty much exactly the same thing "we" (athiests) say about the Bible and Christianity. It's kind of funny. How many times have I heard "have you read the Bible? I think it would be very enlightening for you". I go "You don't really believe that do you? DUDE, IT'S A NOVEL!" And a bunch of Christians are ridiculing someone who believes in *aliens*? Well... thank you for my daily dose of irony.
Sorry, I

Look, I don't want to get into some online discourse, and I don't really care what people believe as far as their spirituality. But him laughing at people's beliefs when he has some pretty far-out beliefs himself is probably pretty un-Christian.

In regards to multiple people writing books of the Bible over hundreds of years, I don't think the Bible spawned the most original ideas over time. Many of the ideas contained therein, i.e., the golden rule, a divine figure in human form, resurrection, "commandments," etc., can be found in a number of other religious texts. The problem is Mr. Dobson is speaking to a populace that actually believes, LITERALLY, that "God wrote a book." And he's laughing at fans of Mr. Brown's book?
Well... if you would watch videos by Lee Strobel, Del Tackett, and Mark Mittelberg, you would see that there is plenty of evidence pointing to the fact of the Bible being the inspired word of God. With thousands of transcripts written over hundreds of years by people who don't know one another, let alone, speak the same language, are all wrote in same style and have no inconsistenties from text to text, i must say, there is a large reason to believe that the bible is more than a mere book.

Why do so many Christians believe that they should pick their leaders through dynastic succession? Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swaggart, John Hagee and now James Dobson - all of them tried to pass on their ministries to their sons. Do they think their bloodlines have special blessings from Jesus?
