The medieval period extending from the V to the XV century. The medieval name is attributed to a seventeenth century scholar who wished to note the Middle Ages lay between two great ages: the classical antiquity and modernity.
The origin of the Folia is unknown, although it is usually located in the Iberian Peninsula.
In general, preferirise often believe that the melody is of popular origin, may have appeared in the XIV-XV centuries in the Iberian peninsula.
