This video shows the final boss of Sonic 1 being defeated in world record time. 1:13 is an easy record to get, so I threw in some playaround elements where I could. Oddly enough, delaying the last hit as long as you can causes your final time to be faster.

Well I'd say this is the easiest world record that anyone can achieve if they simply wanted to. I'm not saying it's 'not' a world record. Just that it's really easy that most people don't call it that way,

energy ball.......cool.....hide and go seek puzzle or move interesting.

I like the anxiety of the theme that plays during this boss. (Despite the ease of the encounter). Just makes you feel the tension of the whole world is on your shoulders. Given it's a fairly short theme, would love to see someone play it on an instrument.

Also, the word "Try Again" with Eggman is juggling, it mean you gotta try again.

You do the stage selected?! You won't be able to have all chaos emeralds because you'd did the stage select.

Do I care about having all the chaos emeralds? Does having all the chaos emeralds make it easier to get 1:13? Does having the chaos emeralds do ANYTHING for you in this game?
No, no, and no.
(Besides, you can always stage select to Special Stage, complete it, exit out of Green Hill 1, and repeat 5 more times before you actually stage select to Final Zone. So yes, it is possible to start directly at Final and still have all 6 emeralds.)

Why does delaying the last hit make it go by faster? Plz reply.

Note that the pistons move up and down at a fast speed. However, during the exploding animation, it goes down to a slow speed (verify this using the actual game if you want). By delaying the last hit, you make sure that the piston spends more time in the fast speed and less time in the slow speed, so you can move on sooner.
