The Renegade Lounge has been updated. Release notes are as follows.

Release notes:

12/02/2009 - Minor update

Stage has been slightly optimized. Added in a few extra character images
in the back part of the first floor, and outside of the stage. This update
is a minor cosmetic update. No serious changes have been made yet. It
is compensation for my absence, due to life issues.

What's left? - finishing off this stage.

The stage can be found at my website

  • I just used this stage of yours for an upcoming series of mine.

    Nice update man,

  • I like the floor reflection it's just right.

Doesn't over power the area, and is still good to look at. It looks like you expanded on the stage in terms of length (If I'm remembering the correct stage in it's previous form correctly) Nice work, I'm a fan :D

  • Well, if Novelty is your way of saying Mediocrity, I'd have to 100% agree with you.

Sorry but I am a long time subscriber, and this has got to be the first time I can honestly say I am disappointed in a piece of your work. Whether it be an episode of your MUGEN show(s) or your tutorial videos, or even other releases... you've always surpassed my standards but not this time. This time all you've managed to do is disappoint.

Sorry but I can't help to be insulted on a personal level.

  • I'm not always a quality kind of person. That's for some of my stages, that had some real work put into them. Like my M.C.B.R. Stage and the colab stage "Castle Terrace". I'm novelty based at best. As it's something that is left out with some creators these days.

The Renegade Lounge, is a place for Renegade Fighters. The current look sports this, and it keeps me, and others satisfied.

So Dark Valentine stands for novelty of the old school feel to some, while keeping the feel original.

  • OK, Well I guess I always thought Dark Valentine stood for quality. Oh well though. You can't win them all I suppose.

  • The end result, is what you currently see in this stage.

Another example, is my Moon Beach 2008 stage. For months, it was rendered "complete", until I decided to add rain. I see that most didn't like the idea of ran, nd most did. So I made two DEF files, and put them in the same zip file.

The Renegade Lounge, is pretty much the same way. It is a full upgrade from my "in the bar" stage. But, a completely different stage.

  • That, and any stage doesn't have to be a final product when released. The original idea for the Renegade Lounge, was to have a few tables, chairs, on the second floor, and the first floor look like a dance floor.

While that gimmick was going alright for the initial release, over time, I seen that it had more potential. So, I decided to give it more life. Make the 1st floor have the tables and stuff, second floor be a VIP area. This worked, ppl liked it, and I stuck with it.

  • It's not a WIP. If it was a WIP, then the stage would not be available. Any stage that looks finished, can have ore things added to it, if the said author is not satisfied, or feels like adding something to it. to give it more flavor.

For me, this stage was going to have gradual releases over time. The WIP version of this stage, was a completely different build, and was rendered unreleased. Because I was not satisfied with it.

  • I guess that is one way to go about it but you didn't note that the stage was a WIP. People make updates to finished products all the time, as far as I was concerned this was a finished stage. I apologize. I thought it was finished, and by Dark Valentine standards I would have been expecting better if it were the case. Glad to hear it wasn't.

  • Thank you.

  • Well, the stage is far from finished. But instead of making others wait, I figure to go ahead, and release them versions at a time.

  • The stage was alright at best.
