i'm a huge page fan and yardbirds fan. jimmy has probably had a bigger influence on my playing style than anyone else. that doesn't mean i'm going to say that everything he's ever done has been perfect. don't be a fanboy.
that's not a valid explanation. if i said "he's a terrible guitarist and i'm awesome" then sure, but i did no such thing. in fact, i gave him lots of respect and said i owe him a lot.
do you not realize that you can acknowledge minor flaws in someone's playing on a single performance deacdes ago without it meaning that you hate them or that they suck?
Pointing out "Young Jimmy is a little off" is a pompous thing to say.
It's as if you're saying it to further pride yourself as knowing what is in tune & what is not. It's not impressive, it's unnecessary to say, and it's a pompous thing to announce.
i guess you don't know what pompous means. i am far better at understanding these things than you are. (see? that last sentence was an example of being pompous. although i wouldn't actually say that, i will not dispute the veracity of that claim).
it is obvious to anyone who isn't completely tonedeaf that it's a pretty wonky performance, so i wasn't showing off my extensive musical prowess by doing so. chill out, man. no need to get worked up. this is the frickin' internet we're talking about.
You truly are a pompous fuck. And quite emotional as well...
Who gives a fuck if he's out of tune? Why would you even want to point out something like that? Why can't you just take it for what it is, and enjoy it without saying "Young Jimmy is a little off..."
choose a new word. for the last time, "pompous" doesn't work when i'm saying he's my biggest influence ever.
ah yes, i suppose "chill out, man" really does make me sound like i'm just a volatile ball of emotion ready to explode at any moment...
and, once again... do you not realize that you can acknowledge minor flaws in someone's playing on a single performance decades ago without it meaning that you hate them or that they suck?

Yeah, Keith Relf is way sexier than Davy Jones. 1:11
Music is better too. The Yardbirds rule!
"Young Jimmy is a little off"...
Well aren't you fucking Mozart!!!
Nobody is impressed, nor does anybody care, that you can tell that he's out of tune. Pointing it out makes you sound like a fucking idiot...
Don't be such a musician, Beethoven. Enjoy it for what it is.
You pointing out "Young Jimmy is a little off", is fucking pompous.

The only person you're impressing is yourself.
