We thought this was a great message. Zach Wahls Speaks About Family IowaHouseDemocrats, a 19-year-old University of Iowa student spoke about the strength of his family during a public forum on House Joint Resolution 6 in the Iowa House of Representatives. Wahls has two mothers, and came to oppose House Joint Resolution 6 which would end civil unions in Iowa.

It's not about religion at all, It's about hate and ego. I am not christian but I do believe in my god, my higher power. And I believe it's about love and god is not that picky as to who you love as long as you love.

@Servantthought Does it really matter? Is it that important why people are gay? One of my friends who is gay feels he was born gay. Another feels events in his life made him gay. Does it really matter either way or are you just wanting to prove that sexuality is some kind of sickness? Given that it doesn't cause distress for the majority of people, where does that view even come from.

@sparkybob388 His father was a sperm donor who had two kids by the same women, so I'm guess he's pretty ok with it.

"If he was a high school drop out" - yeah, but he's not. His point being that gay people can raise kids just as well as anyone else. Gay people have kids who drop out of high school, kids who go to university and kids who are managers. Because, you know, gay people are normal.

I wonder how his father feels about all this? Oh, that's right we don,t care about THEM any more. As far as being "proud" of the speaker, well let"s just say that if he was a high school drop out he would not be saying anything to anybody. Pride = love on an educational sliding scale; the higher the "education" the more "acceptance and love given... No thank you!

Correct! We all have imbalances as well. If a male is chemically producing too much estrogen, it doesn't mean that sexual attraction to other men becomes appropriate. In most cases it's trauma, even where/ because of a negligent/ absent father didn't provide structure for the household. If a man is producing too much testosterone or a hormone that makes him aggressive ... he could never legalize/ recieve a personal exemption for murder or even random slapping.

Just because a statement is often spoken doesn't make it true... Their is no scientific evidence homosexuals are born with an attraction towards their own gender however their have been many psychological studies to show a direct correlation from sexual trauma at any ago to homosexual desires even among heterosexual victims of abuse. Study knowledge is power.
