This is the third area where I level up in FF6 quickly. I continue on until about level 30 then return to until about 35.

My top favorite song plays when not in a battle, one that I listened to for 52 1/4 days in a row (with bonuses).

  • Just kill everyone off but Edgar, then get like 800-1000 exp per fight. I went from level 18 to around 30 in about an hour and a half. Rest of game is cake!

  • Soloing, yes, but instead of defeating all but one of your own characters, simply going solo is good enough. You are right, you can almost solo everything, especially the area I left off at with the chimera where I could be getting close to 1500 EXP in one battle. Autocrossbow - just can't go without it....

  • hey how do you change espers when you only have 1 to another character? I remember playing this but quitting because i couldnt change the esper to another character after i learned whatever i had to from it

  • Just choose an empty slot. If you have 4 espers, A, B, C, and D, and many areas where future espers go, just have one of the characters choose the empty slot, then pop it on a character who could learn from it (or, in my case, for the stat boosts since I'm not much of a magic user).

  • Is this the SNES version, or the GBA version?

  • Actually, it's the Playstation 1 version (Final Fantasy Anthology). I don't have the SNES available and I've never used the GBA.

  • Edgar rocks.

  • That's a pity, as a lot of the flaws in the PS1 version (mainly the horrible lag, as shown at the end of battles in the fade-away) are not there in the cart versions. You should try to get ahold of them sometime.

And as you love the overworld music, which is Terra's theme, you should listen to some of the remixes people have done of it. In particular, Terra in Black. I think you'd enjoy it.

  • The official record is 52 1/4 days and that's roughly 23 hours per day. The theoretical maximum is about 80. It's the bass that really does it. I went 17 days without changing the speed, another record. I also like the battle music, but no where near as much.

  • I already have a few where I have pronounced it. My site's FAQ question 6.1 answers it as well.
