Sea Breeze - Shaker BarSchool®

http://ow.ly/2gtsa The dry ingredients give a wonderful freshness to this classic summer cocktail. Some say a Sea Breeze is a Cape Cod with grapefruit juice, some say its a Greyhound with cranberry juice. A Greyhound is a vodka and grapefruit juice; adding a salt rim makes it a Salty Dog.

Glass: 12 oz Collins
Method: shake & strain
Ice cubes
2 lime wedges
50ml vodka
50ml cranberry juice
50ml grapefruit juice

Put the ice into a mixing glass and squeeze one piece of lime into the glass. Add the vodka, cranberry and grapefruit juices, and cap with a Boston shaker. Shake vigorously for a few seconds and pour into a Collins glass. Squeeze the second lime wedge into the glass, rub around the rim and discard.

You can also add the cranberry juice to an ice-filled Collins glass. Place the remaining ingredients in a Boston shaker, shake for a few seconds then pour carefully over the cranberry, creating a white layer over the red. Garnish with a fresh piece of lime.

I have a question? Does it matter what brand of vodka you put on these drinks?

Not as such, mainly because Vodka isn't aged or flavoured (except for flavoured vodka obviously) in the way spirits like Whiskey and Gin are. Although all Vodka's have a unique mash bill it can be quite hard to distinguish differences in flavour. Vodka made from potato (e.g. Chopin) is probably the easiest to identify. With regard to brand, this is up to you just dont use supermarket budget Vodka! Shaker favourites are Wyobrowa and Belvedere, Skyy Berry is my personal fave!
