@douro20 Are you talking about the tractors? On them the spark system is just for starting. The fuel tank for the petrol system is not large enough for any sort of lengthly running time. You wait until the hot bulb is a dull red and then switch over to oil.

SFV used to make dual-fuel oil engines which could run on gasoline using a sparkplug in the head and a buzz coil.

How do they start it once they have heated the hot bulb, do they just bounce it off compression by hand or is it air started?
