Rev Overstreet would play his guitar outside of the Mason temple, the saint would stir up dust, this was before Mason temple had grass.

hi, recently found this clip comes from a 1963 documentary done in conjunction with the arhoolie label called " DOWN HOME MUSIC: A Journey Through The Heartland " , even better there is more footage of Rev. Louis Overstreet and his sons and it was just recently released on dvd!

@jrak: This clip was sent to me a while ago and I just uploaded it, as it was once on YouTube. However, I know there is a documentary in the works about the Black Church, and it shows this footage, and things similar. If I can find the previews on YouTube again, I'll direct you to it (if you haven't seen it already).

YEs Lawd I had to ge up and SHOUT on that one!! Takes me back to south Georgia when I was a small boy and the tent revivals would come to town, and when we would go to an old wood floor church built off the ground using bricks as support, The saints at those places would carry own and make Joyful LOUD! Praise to the The Lord God Jesus! THis touched my soul brought tears too my eyes THANK YOU!!!! THank you I miss that type of Church and those saints from so much!
