A set of 0.10-0.46 is a good starting point, however some players used heavier string, Scotty Moore for instance. For more twang use lighter gauge. I use fender 50XL (11-14-22-30-40-50). You have to experiment with your reverb or echo.
A set of TV Jones Filtertrons or even GFS Retrotron Nashville or Liverpool pickups would get you closer to the vintage Gretsch sound. I use a fender Atomic at the bridge. Not perfect but better than the Ibanez one.

@meharidude what string set up would u recomend? high, low or what?
and how deep the reverb? thanks!

what chords you use to play that song ?

I've gotta pair of PhatCats in my artcore and it's got a severe case of twang mixed with h'bucker kerrang--a righteous mix!!
