There's on doubt that Socialism doesn't work. There's no doubt that the US policies towards Cuba is not good for anyone. Painting this as a liberal vs. conservative thing is flawed. The US spurted a corrupt mafia controlled government before Castro why not after? How many of the problems in Cuba are because of the embargo? This is why conservatives are not the opposite of Socialist. They are different versions of the same thing.

The embargo is the effect not the cause. The cause is Castro's policies (communism and abuses of the people). You remind me of Hitler trying to blame the Jews. Conservatives are very far away from socialist. It is liberals that have a very similar policy to socialist.

Tthe tactics practiced by Marxist-Lenninists like Castro are that they take power by force pretending to be for the people, but when they take power, they kill and imprison intellectuals, property owners, priests, nuns, and anyone who doesn't think like they do. Exactly. They often use socialism or communist talking points to get them into power, however once they get into power they change their spots and show their real agenda. They use left-wing talking points because it appeals to people's greed, laziness, bigotry and class envy.

Castro has closed Cuba for CUBANS, Cuba is not a republic but a slave-camp. No private property, no freedom of travel (not even withing Cuba), no freedom of speech or publishing, no internet, cable, normal bank accounts, etc. Even DVDs and cell-phones were illegal until 2008, FACT.
