The U.S. version is bigger and includes more features than the Japanese and European versions in order to meet crash standards and the preferences of the U.S. consumers. The American i MiEV is 11" longer than the Japanese version, 4.3" wider, and slightly taller. It also has an upgraded interior and feature more accessories, including advanced airbags and a tire-pressure monitoring system.
The roll-out of the i MiEV is scheduled to start in California, Oregon, Washington and Hawaii in November 2011, expanding into the Northeast in March 2012, and nationwide availability by the end of 2012. Mitsubishi announced partnerships with Eaton and Best Buy for sales and home installation of recharging units.
@sshole69 Not anymore unfortunately (at least in this type of situation). There's no science behind the Marxist enviro-movement bullshit, just pure politics. And nobody dare defend them because their anti-democratic and anti-human agenda will affect us all if they have their way 100%. Look up some of their more radical quotes on google and you'll see what I mean. I see where you're coming from though...

These things are so fucking ugly. Makes even the Prius look good. And its not the oil companies faults oil prices are so high. Its those damn enviro-junkies and their lobbyists who staunchly refuse to let the oil companies drill in Alaska and expand business in the Gulf of Mexico and other areas just because they have a beef with them. There's no physical proof that their drilling will hurt the environment (its all theory only).

@eujeeves it is but it will get better over time its like in the early 1900's when u had to crank the internal combustion engine now u just put a key in eventually they find a way to make the electric car bigger and nicer looking...just like everything else there is a flaw to it in this case its design vs efficiency in this case people would have cars that are better for the environment and better on there wallet in the long run than something that looks like a normal vehicle

@Heavymetalhero91 Thanks that makes more sense. Sad but logical :)
eujeeves 1 month ago
@eujeeves because when your working with electric its different than internal combustion cause u have to remember the heavier the car the more electric it will use to move it if u take a car like the chevy impala and make it a EV u will get 10 miles to a charge these cars have to weigh next to nothing to be able to get the efficiency out of the batteries so they gotta make the frame smaller cut out the extra doors get rid of the trunk take this and that out and this is what ur left with
