"Oh where, oh where can my baby be?
The lord took her away from me.
She 's gone to heaven so I got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world..."

This song was done from a true story; seen from an apartment window over looking a Rail Road Crossing; in late 1963 two teens where out on a friday-nite date when they tried to beat a train at the only crossing in their town it was said that the boy pulled his girl friend from the wreckage and held her for hours after she had died.. Small town in eastern Tenn. Frank Wilson dedicated this song to the two kids from that accident. Very Sad but True Story.

  • wow this man is beautiful!

  • Ah I stand corrected...good call

  • @herdboy33 The original was by Wayne Cochran.

  • @jimmylee123able Wayne Cochran did it first.

  • @angus42868 Well, I say Eddy did this song more than justice, he's the only one who sang this song with passion, without been annoying.

And I am a very critical music critic. I hate affective voices like Creed, Nickleback, Kelly Clarkson, etc.

  • love this song and could people stop talking about justin bieber please

  • Well, I was gonna go for another beer. Now i'm afraid to open my fridge!

  • I have heard so many people raggin on Pearl Jam over doing this song. I don't understand why. I thought they did it justice. They didn't change much of anything from the original version. Just keeping a very touching and awesome song alive for another generation to hear. WELL DONE PEARL JAM!!
