Ryan Nicholson Gemini Award Winner makeup artist and Make Up Director of the makeup department at New Image College of fine arts speaks out about the difficulties he faced in his own career not having a great school that he could train at. He explains the cruciality of Make Up training in order to work on union sets and why New Image College of Fine Arts is the ideal place to receive that training.
Ryan Nicholson has over twenty years experience as a prosthetics expert, and makeup artist. His resume includes credits from North America, Asia, Italy, and South Africa. He has been taught from the masters in his field, working along side many academy award winning make up artists. With over one hundred films and television projects under his belt, he has had the opportunity to work with, Sean Penn in The Pledge, Jet Li in War, and Will Ferrel and Jon Favreau in Elf. He was also the Prosthetic Effects Supervisor for Scary Movie, Specialty Props Artist in Scary movie 3, Make-up Effects Artist for Supernatural and Blade the series. Ryan is a Gemini award winner, and has been nominated numerous times. Ryan brings a plethora of wealth and experience to the classroom as a teacher at New Image College of Fine Arts. Here, he enjoys passing on his knowledge and inspiring students to succeed in the fields of make-up and prosthetics. The numerous films he has written and directed have developed a loyal fan base across Europe and North America. These films have allowed him the opportunity as a visionary to push the boundaries of makeup artistry, prosthetic design, and special effects.

Ryan's make-up students are given the opportunity to work on feature films that he directs through the college and is highly respected as a teacher and expert in his chosen field.
