Another version of the theme and "walk home" closing credits, with Post cereals being promoted in this 1961 variation. Fair use and educational value on TV History are the purpose here.

  • Imagine them doing that with six kinds of Honey Bunches of Oats, six kinds of Shredded Wheat, etc...they'd be flipping cereal boxes every second and the viewer would be all mixed up! LOL!

  • Amen! No doubt today's cereal selections would drive the sponsors into a frenzy to show them all! Glad you liked this one!

  • Where did you get this from? I noticed it was filmed from the screen. :)

  • I have a large collection of old video I am just now sorting thru and posting some of the fun stuff, keep checking for more.

  • there is two different ending of andy. this clip is CBS kiroscope ending you see now w/ sponsor product on it. and the syndicated ended with mayberry art on the left hand and gray/blue background.i'm seeing it's right now on WMAZ 13 (macon ga) at 5:30 pm.in syndication.

  • That was cute! Little Ron Howard picking up his fish he caught. Too bad they can't show these closing credits in the syndicated Andy Griffith Show's

  • This is from the episode "Mayberry Goes Bankrupt", the fourth episode of the second season.

  • General Foods sponsored the series during its entire eight-year run, with "Post" cereals the product they advertised most over the years. In those days, sponsors usually flashed their product (or logo) in a corner of the screen during the closing credits, and Andy's was no exception. GF wanted maximum exposure for all of the various "Post" cereals they marketed(regardless of which were actually "pitched" during the episode),so they used a "montage" of boxes, ending with the "Post" logo.

  • that was funny..how the boxes rotate like that..lmao
