@jasonrothfeld Not the way people do, they have nerves but only one ganglia to interpret it. So, sort of, this is a lot less painful then a bird pull them out of their shell as they are already hibernating before her kills them.

@seagullsbeauty I sail can go for a year with no food, and they always go winter without food, a few days is nothing all is does to them is tell them "winter is coming because there is no food so I should go to sleep" that way the snails are inside their shells for the rest of the process.
