A video benchmark blog comparing the speed of Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A1667G AMD Athlon 64 and the Turion version. 2.4ghz and 1.8ghz respectively and the Apple Macbook Pro 13 inch 2.26 ghz core 2 duo. In this video we use a 3D Studio Max Benchmark called "4 Views".

  • how can you compare a mac with dual core and ( i assume ) with better graphics card. Too a maybe 1 or 2 year old single core ( AND AMD) with less good processor?

  • Your right it's not a fair fight but thats what we expected. We really just wanted to show how far processor speeds have come in the last few years.

  • you can give us the software link when you make a benchmark so that we can test/upload our score/time too.

  • 3D studio max is a paid professional 3D graphics suite for making movies, effects, creatures, 3D models, gaming environments etc... It's not an application for benchmarks per se. Although it's intensive rendering requirements makes it very suitable. You have to purchase the latest version online.

  • Those Turion cores have a more modern architecture to the old Athlon 64's :)

Athlon 64 was the hot sauce back in its day though, that 2.4GHz Athlon 64 would have killed any Pentium 4 based laptop :)

The comments below irritate me though, the Mac beat the PC's because it runs a better Core 2 processor and faster RAM, the fact it is a Mac is irrelevant :P It's like benching a 2.2GHz Core 2 PC against a 1.67GHz Power PC based Powerbook, the PC would win :P

    Great vid, nice editing 5/5

  • What is tje purpose of this video? Comparing a modern DualCore Intel from 2008/2009 to an 2006 Single Core AMD processor?

  • @LACK78 but it's not only the processor speed. in 3d benchmarking the graphics processor has a big role too. you can't compare cheap integrated chips with dedicated ones. it's like you would race a blue motion golf and a scuderia ferrari

  • Don't be lazy - take your chance NOW and win Macbook Air. Check out macbook7, c0m!

  • this is really gay... :S

    man wtf?

    whats ure poin?

  • THE core 2 duo has 2 cores

  • but the price differential be the same

  • Are you from the 1950's or something? Cause Apple explains windows on macs. Boot Camp, Parallels, VMware fusion etc!

  • Yeah well. Most of us on here use dollars and cents. $ and ¢ not £

  • Its funny how windows works better on a mac than OSX does. Hahahahahaha

  • How can you have windows on aac???
