In a collaboration between American and European space agencies (NASA and ESA) to study the Sun, scientists from the Ulysses mission have found that the sounds generated in the depths of our star, shake and make the Earth vibrate in sympathy. Indeed, they have determined that the magnetic fields and the earths' atmosphere participate in this "cosmic chorus".
