Return To Harper Valley - Jeannie C. Riley

"Return to Haper Valley" and "Harper Valley P.T.A." were both written by the same composer, Tom T. Hall.

"Return to Harper Valley",15 years from the original recording of the CMA and Grammy winning song "Harper Valley P.T.A.," In this version, Mrs. Johnson's daughter is the mother of two children at the Harper Valley High. Mrs. Johnson attends a school dance where she reunites with some of the members of the original P.T.A., some have changed and a few encountered hardships. Then Mrs. Johnson looks around and is disturbed by some of the actions she sees today. Then she thinks back to the way she used to be 15 years ago and how her actions hurt the ones she loved. So the next time the P.T.A. meets she's got things to say, to a brand new generation of the Harper Valley P.T.A.

Three years earlier on August 24th, 1968 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on September 21st it peaked at #1 {for 1 week} and spent 13 weeks on the Top 100...

In 1978 the movie of the same name was released...

The Beatles' "Hey Jude" succeeded it at #1 {for 9 weeks} on the Top 100...
