Fintolgano, this was performed by Sergio Mendes' band, sung by Leza Miller & Joe Pizzulo. However, Sergio only re-arranged it a bit as it was written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil; he the music & she the lyrics. The arrangement, performance & of course the writing, were all beautifully done.

Earth, Wind & Fire had first chance with it, but they turned it down & Dionne Warwick did cover it a year or two prior to this recording. I like E,W& F, but glad they passed on it as this is the best version

Uhhh... EWF is an entire troupe of changing musicians and singers and directors. How in hell would you have strangled them into a duo singing and only a simple backup accompaniment? Blaring horns and over-riding backup singers. Cripes. EWF had more common sense that Sergio Mendes.
