Great Free Tip - How to make your own strap lock system for musical instruments.
No modifications required to original buttons/button holes.
Can be easily removed/replaced if neccessary.
I call 'em "lock-picks".
Of course, these don't have to be made from a pick (although I really recommend the nylon material) but guitarists don't go to the hardware store for parts... we can get picks when we get strings.

  • Okay... I may have misspoken- How about "Frugal"?

I got the Axis SS ($1400 retail) on eBay for $800.00 nearly new- as I said, frugal.

These have never failed me, but I don't (and wouldn't) swing or throw my guitars.

    I have tried other strap locks and most have the same flaw;

You replace the orginal button screw with the new screw which is not the same size and they eventually loosen up and strip out- shall I mention they are bulky and noisy? And those HAVE failed on me before!

    Cheers.

  • The beauty is in it's simplicity! It's one of those "Why didn't I think of that!" ideas. Good job!

  • @joeguitargod

From what I've fournd - if that's what you think, you probably would've thought of it too... eventually!

Do a search for "Dunlop Ergo Lok". They have a similar idea. I bought some, but they are big and thick and don't fit on everything.

  • that's one tiny guitar

  • @Domydoor

It seems small, and it is has a shorter overall body length than most guitars, but the length of the neck is actually slightly longer than an SG or Les Paul (or at least the copies that I have). Play one; you will love it!

  • @Domydoor

Oh- and I am 6 feet 2 inches (188 cm) tall- which makes it look even smaller.

the body is 36.25" (92 cm) and the neck is 19" (48 cm)

  • Yep... total fail on my part- but not worth a re-take!

Please accept this full refund and a hearty "Huzzah".
