I love that film myself! It was on THIS TV on Sunday affernoon but a bit chopped up; the guard & phone call to Maxine were parts chopped off. Much of the cast would appear on Norman Lear's comedies during the 70s.

I've only watched this movie a time or two. Is it on DVD?

I'll save you some search time, for this movie. I FOUND IT! Amazon.com has it and it's listed for a very reasonable price too. I have a friend who posted this very clip in Facebook, whom also stated he wished he could find it himself. This prompted me to do some digging. So, since I've long since posted my findings in Facebook, I'm now sharing this with you.

Boy, that crossing guard needs to chill. :D

That $25 million is worth almost $150 million today (to be exact, the number is $148,360,656). To paraphrase that farmer at the end of the movie, if you divide that among the 4,006 residents, that's equal to $37,034.61 per resident today. No wonder he wanted to divide that among the residents instead of the town government getting it!
