***ABOUT DEUS EX: HR***
Deus Ex: Human Revolution (previously Deus Ex 3) will be the third game in the first-person shooter/role-playing game Deus Ex series, and a prequel to the original game.
It is being developed by Eidos Montreal in co-production with Square Enix, who are responsible for pre-rendered movie sequences and publishing. Neither Warren Spector nor Harvey Smith, the creative directors behind the first two games, are attached to the project.
***GAMEPLAY***
In the Deus Ex games, augmentations are body modifications that allow the user superhuman abilities. While augmentations in the first two games were nanotech, Human Revolution is set prior to both and instead features mechanical augmentations. These will be divided into four types: Combat, Stealth, Technology and Social.
Unlike in Invisible War, weapons will fire distinct ammunition types instead of depleting a unified pool. They can also be upgraded to better suit the player.
In a controversial departure from previous titles in the series, Human Revolution will use a regenerating health model. This change was made because the developers didn't want players to get into a situation where they were unable to progress due to low health, and would be forced to "scrounge for med packs." They see this scrounging behavior as breaking the flow of the game when one retreats to search the entire level for medical supplies. They believe their regenerating health model will still encourage tactical and strategy forming retreats, but not to the extent where the tension and flow of the game is disrupted.
Human Revolution is primarily a first person game, but will feature a contextual third person viewpoint when using the cover system, certain augmentations, or closeup instant-kill moves.
***IS DEUS EX: HR AN RPG/FPS/TPS?***
Deus Ex: HR is FIRST person, but switches to third person for some contextual elements, after which it quickly returns to first person. DX:HR still has a component of action, a component of RPG, and a component of open-ended gameplay. You can play it the way you want - just as in the original game. If you want to be a stealth agent, or if you prefer to be a John Rambo, the choice is yours. You can play the entire game using combat... or you can play using stealth. Or, you can play the entire game going back and forth between both. The key is CHOICE. As the player, you are able to play the game the way you want to play it.
It's an RPG and a shooter, with different ways to solve an objective, different people to talk to and lots of extra little things to do beyond the main path - just like Deus Ex 1. There is no one way to play; there are multiple ways depending on your style. DX:HR will not lack RPG elements because of a couple other game design choices - it remains an action/RPG like the first game even with the changed aspects. It's still based around making decisions which have consequences, selecting from a multi-path, multi-solution approach in a non-linear space.
***WHO ARE THE WRITERS?***
Great effort is being put into the story and the characters are a major focus of the entire project, with the resources and skilled people being put behind it. The Eidos Montréal team is lead by Mary DeMarle with at least 1-2 more writers internally, plus contractors like James Swallow and who have written for other games, tv shows, and had novels published.
Additionally, Deus Ex 1 & 2 writer Sheldon Pacotti has been enlisted as story consultant and has been working with the EM team, and original creators Warren Spector & Harvey Smith have been spoken to.
***IS THERE REALISM & ELEMENTS OF SOCIOLOGY?***
Deus Ex: HR will have blood and realism but gore will remain limited - it is not a game about butchery. There won't be any over-the-top extreme content either, like dueling chainsaws. Mature content will remain realistic.
I wonder what the system requirements will be, and how well an HD 5970 will run it.

@youngdones: I have no idea, but my computer won't run it. I can barely run Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 at the moment. :P With DX3 PC is the only choice for me though.

i really dont like why they made this first shooter. I mean look at his hand he could do anything wiht that like bashing ppl and stab them to death and not just shooting ppl with whatever-guns-he-pick. Also, the cover-up feature is already taken from Quantum and Solace

@hydroblast9: Deus Ex 3 is first-person because original Deus Ex and Deus Ex 2 were first-person games as well. Fans would most likely burn Eidos Montreal HQ down if it was 3rd person shooter now. Propably me included. haha. Adding cover up system (i think leaning was good enough for that) and regenarating life was pretty cheap move in my opinnion though. I think Deus Ex 3 is more like first-person-action-adventure-role-playing game than pure FPS. :)

@Mii85 Yes but it's only 3rd person during take-downs, which are supposed to look awesome yet still take skill to pull off, and the cover system, which Eidos has assured us is totally optional, as the sneaking mechanics are based around line-of-sight and therefore encompass first person tactics as well. Don't worry, Eidos know what their doing. They know not to make the same mistakes that IW did, but they don't want a carbon copy of the original either. Their crafting their own, unique game.

@RAJTeunis: Yeah, i suppose you are right, carbon copy would be really bad, just like doing totally new and diffirent gaming experience. Fine line between too old and too diffirent. So far it looks great and I cannot wait to hear more. Thanks for comment.
