why was the family just watching their grandmother run around in the street with a knife while the cops are rolling up. sounds like they wanted this to happen.

I'm no police officer and frankly I don't even know how to fight. BUT the elderly lady doesn't look like she could lift a ream of paper. I would have approached her gently from behind, grabbing her elbows and walking my hands down to her wrists. Then the knife could be confiscated. Throwing the lady to the ground? This vid is very hard for me to watch. The poor soul.

the issue here is that this poor old woman wasnt given enough access to adequate care in order to prevent this. rich people and higher proportions of white people wind up with better access to health care. you wont see many super rich old CEOs wandering the streets, having a medical emergency and branding a knife! ---this is because they are VERY WELL CARED FOR!!

@vailskinum1 dude did you even read the story? She had alzheimers disease and incase you are unfamiliar with it, in its late stages it takes such a toll on the person that they do not even understand what a knife is. They dont know what chewing is, let alone what food is.

Exactly obviously the family was either scared of her with the knife the cops came in isolated the weapon and put her on the ground. they didn't beat her when she was no longer a threat they showed no more agression to the woman, and if ppl looked more into this she was taken to the hospital and had a check up she sustained no injuries.

All I can say is if you think this if too much force, look up John T Williams shooting in Seattle. Look at that video then tell me this was abuse.
