Sung and loved by campers everywhere. I first learned it at the Bishop Quarterman Conference Center (BQCC) in Amarillo, Texas. This summer I spread the love to Swing Out New Hampshire (SONH).

  • Wow -- I'd forgotten "You've been primping" until you said it! That's too bad about the flagpole, you really need a 2-syllable-r there.

Ah, the days of making jokes about UnderWhere?

I went to BQCC from about 1995-99.

Here we sit like bumps on a cedar log, bumps on a cedar log, bumps on a cedar log. Here we sit like bumps on a cedar log, waiting for someone to speak . WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO SPEAK !

  • Great work on this. I've just sent it to a cub leader who's been in the business for six months and didn't know the song. O the horror!

  • theres also... the rat stands along the rat stands along high ho the dary oh the rate stands alone....

  • I went his summer 2009 junior high camp and we all didnt hear the breakfast bell on saterday

  • You have no idea how much this video made my day. I've been going to Quarterman since 2003 and this past summer (2008) was my senior summer. I typed in "Bishop Quarterman" to the search engine, not really expecting to find anything and I ended up with this.

The Announcement Song is still in use. So is the "You've been primping" song, but they replaced the flagpole with a cross, so we have to sing "around the cro-oss you must go,"--doesn't flow too well, but that's ok.
