Improve spoken English at http://EnglishHarmony.com - home of Robby Kukurs! Do you speak English quite fast to sound better and more like native English speakers do? Forget about it! It can actually impede your English fluency! Just watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69Aw8Dnnolw and you'll see that even Hollywood actors speak slowly, picking the right words and hesitating a bit. So why should you be ashamed of speaking in a slow, controlled manner?

  • Are you in Ireland? I can hear the Irish accent pepping...

  • @Thegreyraccoon Really? Well... Been living in Ireland for nearly 10 years now!

  • Thank you so much for the tips. This is exactly my problem. When I speak, I focus too much on my accent. People actually think I'm a native speaker until I start stuttering.

  • @misadeptrai1011 Yes, it's so easy to buy into believing that perfect pronunciation is all an English speaker needs. Personally I pay more attention to WHAT I say as opposed to HOW I say it when it comes to pronunciation and accent!

  • your advices are very interesting and intelligent, thanks a lot

  • @17Pegaso17 No problem! ;-)

  • I'm laughing while watching this, because I have the same problem. And that I feel so ridiculous; always finding myself speaking fast and catch myself being confuse because All my word mush together. LOL btw, I am Born in America I can speak English and Hmong clearly, but I still find it difficult finding and using the right words to put in a sentence and express what I really want to say.

  • yeah, it's quite useful

  • your English is even better than some native speakers .... from a native speaker

  • @mjantube Exactly! Well said!
