you're playing not rhythmically, this song is easy for a bass and i think it is not good idea to cover it because is not developing. You should playing song like californication and others RHCP for begin good is some blues song on bass

Your bass sounds horrible. You should check the EQ settings on it and your amp. I'm sure recording it through your computer didn't help though.
