  • Thick insulation is preferred. The internal temperature should be fairly steady. In Western Australia, the bats appear not to be attracted to boxes that have partitions. A larger open box will probably attract the European honey bee which will sting and kill the bats. I recommend building small types, but more than one in number. Bats constantly switch roosts.

  • Bat = insect eating machine.

  • I like the thick insulation.

    A lot of bat box plans, I see, have internal partitions, to create 20mm cavities.

    Do you think a larger open box, is just as good, or better ?
