I had a Italian bull Mastiff when I was ten in 2003. This scene reminded me of when I went into the garden once to find him. I called out "LUCA!" and then I heard faint barking. Then the pounding of paws. Suddenly, something erupted from the bushes at the far end, he came charging for me, like Hooch. I bent my knees, opened my arms and braced myself. He flew right into me and knocked my arse to the ground. He then slobbered me. R.I.P. Luca :) I'll miss you.

I know that Hooch wasn't a pit-bull. When Hooch attacked Turner, it reminded me of one of my friends when his mother's pit bull bit him. Turns out that dog was trained to attack. He also told me that he was scared to give the dog food or move his food bowl away from him because he doesn't want to get attacked again.

Hooch was a Mastiff, not a pitt-bull. You should never reach for any dog that is not a part of your pack, and you it's quiet calm pack leader to whom it listens. If you want to pet a dog not of your pack, allow its pack leader (owner) to introduce you, or you very well risk getting bit.

Also, if you show "fear" a dog can smell it. If you are afraid don't approach, because no working class dog is ever going to accept you.

One of my friends told me that when he tried to pet a pit bull, it bit him. From then on, he's scared when he gives the dog food or when he moves the food bowl from the dog. He's scared of getting attacked again.

i had a dog come at me somthin feirce once he was like a german shepard but a foot longer - man i was returning some campin stuff --i dropped it and ran the chain stopped him and i think he mighta bit my ass a little--insane dog--territory

I haven't watched this film in awhile, but watching this clip just now, i was laughing my A%# off. I think it would be better to end it at about 1:19 though for a bigger impact, the rest is anti climatic.
