  • Yes, that IS a long neck. Wanted a Seeger neck, ever since I became enslaved to the Banjo by listening to Mr. Seeger and to Dave Guard of the Kingston Trio. One day, I got ahold of a huge piece of very cherry cherry, and I just cut off anything didn't look like a long banjo neck. SHOULD have taken more care with the had silhouette peghead, but, it's still fun to see.

  • Being a longneck player myself I say kudos to you for making your own neck. I did mine. And the neck finish I used is Tru-Oil. Have used it since 1963. Great stuff. Doesn't check or scratch white like lacquer,

  • Mike,is that a long neck? Mine's a 22 fret,but i keep it tuned down to E like a long neck.That's a fun tuning.

  • it DOES sound good. The Helix rims have plenty of volume, even in an open back. Nice looking neck too,Mike.I've got one with a cherry Helix rim.

  • Mike, you done a fine job and the banjo sounds pretty darn good to!

  • I think it sounds pretty darn good too!
