  • Said well and with the dignity that the was the spirit behind the march. Internment was wrong, they stood up for democracy & won when Internment was abolished. Their lives were not spent in vain, though they should never have been spent at all. The fight for human rights continues on throughout the world. Syira, Zimbabewe, N Korea, Iran, Guantanamo, Russia, Palestine, Tibet, China, Indonesia, Burma, Cuba and Im sure many more.

  • Bloody Sunday cannot EVER begin to compare to the murders at Waco and Ruby Ridge. I pray that one day THEY will overcome and Janet Reno and those responsible will be tried and convicted!

  • @mjrooney7 I'm not surprised there are three sour unionist faces. There probably thinking about the 700 protestants killed by the IRA.

  • wheres Sinn Fein for this speech? Oh yeah, that's right- they're representing in westminster via fucking email. WELL SAID DURKAN

  • @foyleobserver He was standing because the speaker was sitting down. It's tradition in the House of Commons to stand when a member has stopped speaking. I don't like Campbell nor his comments, but equally you're comments are moronic and fairly pathetic and only disgrace Ireland.

  • Horse Trading going on here .

  • @tyronepat1 'recruitment propaganda for dissident republicans'... really? that sounds like an evaluation from some generic BBC report. every republican, nationalist, unionist, dog in the street knows what GC is like at this stage. his reaction was depressingly predictable - he's not changed the record for 30 odd years so his opinions are hardly worthy material for an IRA recruitment drive. most young people know he's a nasty part of unionism, not the face of unionism itself. shame he's my MLA.

  • I have to give McRea credit, he looked saddened and remorseful and he applauded the speech, young Ian seemed respectful also, as for Gregory Campbell, his comments after the verdict and his bitterness and indifference, at missing the point with regards, to the verdict, served as recruitment propaganda for dissident republicans, in my opinion. Vulnerable young people will have heard his comments and instead of empathy all they got was indifference and bitterness. The man is a bigotted dinosaur
