Florence Villa Grove Road Attempted Burglary

Polk County Sheriff's detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect seen on video surveillance attempting to break into someone's personal vehicle in Davenport.


Around 4:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2011, the homeowners on Downing Circle, near Florence Villa Grove Road in the Davenport Lakes subdivision in Davenport, were alerted to suspicious activity outside their home when their dog began barking. They ran outside and saw an unknown make and model car with its lights off driving away from their driveway at a fast rate of speed. The homeowners then checked their video surveillance system and saw an unknown Hispanic or light-skinned African American male teenager wearing a white T-shirt and light-colored pants throw a large landscaping boulder at the passenger window of their SUV in an attempt to break into it. The teenager then jumped into the waiting car and fled the scene.
